First Female Jail Administrator Appointed
Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that he has appointed a new Jail Administrator at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Holly Smith will be the first female Jail Administrator for Fayette County. Smith replaced Edward Sawyer, who retired earlier this month. Jail Administrator Smith served 18 years in the United States Air Force and previously spent 10 years working various positions at the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office ranging from Jailer, to Patrol Deputy, to Assistant Jail Administrator. Smith had been working as a Patrol Deputy at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for the past year and a half. She currently holds both Master Peace Officer and Jailer licenses. Changes and new ideas are being communicated daily. This is a great and positive move to prepare for the future of the Jail at the Sheriff’s Office. Pictured from left is: Lt.
