Colorado Valley Guild Hosts Quilting Around the World Celebration in LG

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild (CVQG) proudly hosted Glenda Wilder’s “Quilting Around the World” Presentation on Tuesday Aug. 22 and a special workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

Glenda shared a collection of quilts from various countries all over the globe. The next day workshop focused on the various ways to construct a traditional Peaky and Spike block. Glenda had a unique way of constructing the block. Another way was working with templates or paper piecing the block. CVQG members had an enjoyable day of trying all three methods in Glenda Wilder’s Program.

Glenda Wilder is a Houston based quilt designer and owner of Glenda Wilder Designs.

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl Street, Room A East, La Grange. Guild meetings begin at 6 p.m. on even months and 10 a.m. on odd months.
