The ground is so saturated they just uprooted and fell over,” Charles Murray said while submitting these photos of the two trees that had fallen over at his home on East Walnut Street in La Grange during last week’s massive storms that dropped about a foot of rain in the city over a three-day span. “La Grange Utilities responded within minutes to clear some branches that were on power lines.”

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild members recently attended the “Improv” workshop with Michelle Lavender. Michelle is from HollyDee Quilts in Luling, she demonstrated the many ways to transform scraps into quilts, using a “wonky” cut and a really open mind. Her unique way of cutting and piecing was amazing.

Traffic Stop Leads to Felony

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday morning around noon, Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on I-10 westbound at the 661 mile marker on a 2019 grey Volkswagen Jetta for traffic violations. “Upon contact with driver several criminal indicators were observed,” the report said.

A Second Suspect in McDonald’s Robbery Arrested By LGPD

La Grange Police arrested a second suspect allegedly involved in the armed robbery at the McDonald’s Restaurant on Nov. 9, 2023, Police Chief David Gilbreath reports that investigators identified 22-year-old Mikael “PeeWee” Eans of La Grange as one of the suspects who robbed the La Grange McDonald’s at gunpoint on Nov. 9, 2023.
