Members of the Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association met on Monday, May 13, with fourteen in attendance. The Fellowship Time was hosted by Kathy Migl, Debbie Morrill, and Jeanne Wetjen. Book Raffle item was donated by Marian Tajchman.

More on the Upcoming Highway 159 Closures

As reported last week, the Texas Department of Transportation plans to close portions of SH 159 north of La Grange for roadwork beginning on June 3. The closures will take place intermittently in order to replace several drainage structures.

A Memorial Day Message From Flatonia’s New Mayor

Major Travis Seale, Assistant Operations Officer, 36th Infantry Division of the United States Army was the guest speaker for The Flatonia American Legion Memorial Day service held on Sunday. Major Seale encouraged the crowd to remember that Memorial Day is a time of both remembrance and celebration. Major Seale stated in his speech that for him personally, Memorial Day it is a time in which he honors those that came before him and to honor those that will protect him and his family in the future.
