Dive into the enchanting world of “Tid and Tad: A Tale of True Friendship”, a delightful children’s book by written by local author Sally Reynolds and illustrated with the vibrant watercolors of Mary Quiros. Join the duo for an exclusive book signing, where they will share the inspiration behind the story and the creative process of bringing the story to life.

“Tid and Tad: A Tale of True Friendship” follows the journey of two best friends, Tid and Tad. These tadpoles spend their days swimming and playing in a fountain, enjoying the company of Miss Lily, the flowering lily pad, and Malcolm the wise and gentle moss.

But no tadpole stays a tadpole forever, and big changes are coming soon for Tid and Tad. Find out how their fountain friends help them make the transition of growing to young adulthood to meet the adventures that await them. “Tid and Tad: A Tale of True Friendship” shares positive messages about growing up and offers an upbeat perspective on life’s changes.

Sally and Mary invite you to join them for an exclusive book signing on Friday, May 31, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the ARTS Ross Gallery (114 N. Live Oak St., Fayetteville, TX). Copies will be available for purchase for $20. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

About the Author

A lover of words, Sally Reynolds studied language acquisition as an undergraduate and focused on elements of propaganda for her master’s thesis in Mass Communication Studies. She loves the printed word, as well as the energy and imagery of fine art. Recognized as an important archival project, her book, “Houston Reflections - Art in the City 1950s, 60s, and 70s,” stressed the importance of collecting and conserving memories.

“Tid and Tad: A Tale of True Friendship” is her first book written for children and those who simply love to share stories.

About the Illustrator

Working in watercolor and acrylic, Mary Quiros has been painting since 1972. Originally from the border community of Laredo, Texas, she now lives in Fayetteville, Texas. Mary’s watercolors have been juried into watercolor societies in Texas, Colorado, South Carolina, Missouri, and Kansas. Mary was featured in Splash 8: Watercolor Discoveries, by North Light Books.

In 2008, Mary showed her work in New York at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in Chelsea. She is represented by the Red & White Gallery in Fayetteville. She teaches and has her studio at home.
