Looking back, the month of May kicked off with a bang. On May 1, Senior Connections celebrated the retirement of Cindy Villarreal.

Students of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in grades 1-8 had the opportunity to participate in the District 9A Private Schools Interscholastic Association Meet held on Friday, Feb. 16, at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Cuero. A total of 44 St. Rose students participated in 91 events.

The 85th session of the Texas Boys State program will occur June 9-14 on the University of Texas campus. The American Legion Auxiliary will be held at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin from June 16-22.

Board members of The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum, located at 275 W. Fairgrounds Rd., La Grange, Texas in the Czech Village, are excited to invite members and the public to the Second Annual “Happy Music for Happy People” Open House and Event. Renovations and upgrades continue; this would be the time to check them out.

E St. John had a very successful morning at the bake sale on May 11.

On May 4, Megan Marie Krause became one of the 14 graduates from the Blinn College Dental Hygiene Program in Bryan. She received her Registered Dental Hygiene pin along with The Golden Scaler Award.

My fingers play tricks on me, driving those nearby a bit bonkers, as I drum a beat to a tune running through my head. I apparently prefer to tap on something that makes a sound, and since I can’t hear it, I am unaware of the irritating thumping.
