La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 4-11.

Learn how to make ordinary meals EXTRAordinary by attending a Healthy Home Cooking Series which is being hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office of Fayette County. The workshops will start on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. and continue through Oct. 10 and 17. The programs will be held in Room 104 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange.

La Grange Noon Lions Club welcomed new member Lion LisaAdamcik to the club. Induction Officer Lion David Wagner along with Lion President Craig Moreau inducted Lion Lisa Adamcik at a recent meeting. Her sponsor is Lion Adrienne Armstrong.

As of Sept. 6, the total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter in 2024 is 1164: 509 dogs and 655 cats in need. As of Sept. 6, the shelter has 127 animals in our care: 54 dogs/73 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men who allegedly stole merchandise from the Tractor Supply store in La Grange Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Three local fire departments battled a 24-acre brush fire for nearly five hours Monday off Bar Ranch Rd. in the Elm Grove area.
