Members of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild, above, proudly showcase 18 of the 26 pledged quilts to the Day One Bags Project. Day One Bags is a nonprofit organization that provides new duffle bags and backpacks to youth in foster care instead of trash bags as luggage. One aspect of the project’s goals is to gift every foster child in Texas with a quilt when they graduate from high school. With over 600 quilt commitments and zipper pouches from all over the United States, for the 5th year, the incredible effort is wrapping these seniors in love as they celebrate their high school graduation.
