His Nose Knows
Slowly returning . . . this pen of “mind,” Never a blank page it cannot find, My mind never stops, Always a thought.
A door cracked open early morn breeze, The pup trotted forth . . . groggy morn meet, No greeting licking, No wagging tail. Ignored my presence . . . straight to the door, He stood sniffing full . . . the morning air, His morning download of all new smells, His full data dump what’s new today, Such simple pleasure of ecstasy. Then he turned to me . . . he wagged his tail, Will be a good day, Cause his nose knows.
