Bus Driver Able to Quickly Free Stuck Bus

A La Grange ISD school bus nearly got stuck in a ditch Tuesday morning while picking up students. It happened near the intersection of SH 159 and SH 237 northeast of Rutersville. Superintendent Andy McHazlett said the bus driver slightly missed a driveway resulting in wheels sliding into a ditch. The driver immediately called the district’s transportation office to report the bus was stuck. The school dispatched a pickup to pull out the bus. Before the pickup even left campus, McHazlett said, the bus driver was able to get the bus out of the ditch.

Senior Connections Celebrates the Holidays

As the holiday season approaches, Senior Connections activity center is excited to announce a special opportunity for our cherished members. While we initially planned to close for the week to honor the Christmas holiday, our commitment to fostering community and connection has inspired us to open our doors for two special days: Monday, Dec. 22 and Friday, Dec. 27.
What a beautiful day to travel to Brookwood in Brookshire and enjoy each other’s company on Thursday, Dec. 12. We filled up the Schuber bus, even stopping in Weimar to pick up some members. There were many opportunities for new friendships as we shopped, visited, and ate a delicious meal served by Austin, a comical and kind server. Pam Janda, Lillian Vanicek, Shirley Machicek, Leona Lange, Alice Fajkus, Gloria Cook, Brenda Ray, Betty Helcamp, Linda Heller, and Stephanie Shroyer made the trip.
