Locals Travel to See ‘The Ark’
Billy and Nancie Blair traveled with Nancie’s sister and brother-in-law Lu and Fred Ginapp to see the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter in Kentucky. The journey began with a drive up to the Fort Worth area to Lu and Fred’s home and from there the two couples took off on the grand adventure. It was an exciting trip with beautiful scenery all the way there and back! The report from Nancie is that The Ark was amazing. They found it very interesting to see how the animals were kept, feed and generally cared for, and to see what it may have been like for Noah and his family aboard the Ark.
They also made a trip over to Mammoth Cave to check it out and had a number of other little side stops that made the trip so enjoyable. They saw lots and got to eat at a number of delicious cafes and restaurants on their adventure. One of those places was City BBQ in Florence, Kentucky that had a sign post up with directional arrows pointing the name, milage and direction to go, including one of Nancie’s favorites, Angelo’s in Fort Worth 956 miles away! There also was a pizza place in Williamstown, Kentucky that served great pizza from a brick oven. This group did not miss a good meal while out and about.
Out and About
It was a busy week recently when friends fromArkansas visited Ron and Pam Knotts. Adopted granddaughter Keylee had been promising a long visit and true to her word she arrived with a gang. She brought a good friend, Ravin Kirkpatrick and Ravin’s kids, two-year-old Oakley and fouryear- old Gracelyn. Keylee’s husband, Trey Brasel arrived a few days later with their three dogs, Denver, Henry, and Oliver. What a house full! The five days were filled with cooking and laughing and feeding cows and driving the Ranger around the ranch. The group also visited Robert’s for dinner one night, had ice cream at the Ice Cream Parlor and games in the pizza yard and Darlin’s for breakfast. The full Flatonia experience. The visit turned into a fun and crazy time for the entire group.
Roads Mowed
Muldoon had a nice touch up just before the 4th of July. TxDOT mowed the right of ways making it a beautiful drive into the community. Earlier the tree trimmers came through cleaning up FM 2237 making the drive is between Muldoon and Cistern where they trimmed the brush makes spotting the wildlife crossing the roads much easier to see.
