A Multi-County Community Wellness program, Holiday Hold’em will begin soon, says Sally Garrett, Fayette County Extension Agent Family & Community Health. This free online challenge is a six-week series dedicated to helping you maintain your weight during the holidays. The goal of this program is for you to maintain your weight within two pounds over the holidays. You will also be encouraged to focus on consuming five servings of vegetables and fruits each day, as well as engaging in regular physical activity. Starting on Nov. 23 you will weigh in weekly at home, your fitness center, or your preferred site. Weight and health logs will be provided to help keep track of your habits and progress throughout the series.

Fayette County Area Go Texan is happy to announce the awarding of scholarships to 30 outgoing senior students in Fayette County for year of 2025. This year FCAGT awarded $59,000 for academics and for the first time is awarding vocational scholarships in the amount of $11,000.
