Farmers Lumber Buys Lone Star Cleaners For Future Expansion

Long-time local laundry business Lone Star Cleaners announced this week that it has sold its building and property at 509 E. Travis St. and will soon cease operations at that location. The property sold to Farmers Lumber Company, which is located next door.

Lone Star Cleaners contracted with another cleaning company that will assume the name Lone Star Cleaners. With Farmers Lumber permission, they will continue operations at the current location for a short period of time. Customers with existing orders are advised that their items are available for pick up.

The new Lone Star Cleaners will be taking over the operation of the cleaning and pressing business at a new location to be announced. They will begin receiving orders soon.

“Our current counter employee Loretta Denham will be the face you will still see as she will be an employee of the new Lone Star Cleaners,” said owner Michael Zuhn. “Lone Star Cleaners wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to our loyal customers who have supported us over the many years. Serving you has been a privilege, and we are better for having known you.”

Zuhn said customers with questions regarding order pickup or future updates can contact Lone Star Cleaners at (979) 968-5340.

“Thank you for your trust and patronage,” Zuhn said.

Farmers Lumber told the Record that they plan to use the property for future expansion.
