Holiday Hold’em Online Holiday Wellness Program to Begin Nov. 23

Would you like to maintain or even lose weight this holiday season? A Multi-County Community Wellness program, Holiday Hold’em will begin soon, says Sally Garrett, Fayette County Extension Agent Family & Community Health. This free online challenge is a six-week series dedicated to helping you maintain your weight during the holidays. The goal of this program is for you to maintain your weight within two pounds over the holidays. You will also be encouraged to focus on consuming five servings of vegetables and fruits each day, as well as engaging in regular physical activity. Starting on Nov. 23 you will weigh in weekly at home, your fitness center, or your preferred site. Weight and health logs will be provided to help keep track of your habits and progress throughout the series.

Taking part in this program for a healthier you will take less than five minutes each week. Make it a holiday challenge and get your office, friends and/or family involved. We hope that you will join us and maintain, no gain this holiday season.

Anyone who is interested in participating in this on-line, no-cost challenge can register by calling the Fayette or Austin County Extension office at (979) 968-5831 or (979) 8652072.
