Presley’s Power, an organization formed by the family and friends of Presley Belle Frank, after her courageous battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After fighting fearlessly for eight months, Presley died in 2012, at the age of just 14-months-old.

The 99th Fayette County Fair came to a close Sunday as a concert by country music star Terri Clark put the finishing notes on this year’s fourday event in La Grange. There was something for everyone with a wide-range of music, food, and exhibits filling the sprawling county fairgrounds, though some local observers and vendors did say attendance seemed down from previous years.

The Fayette County Commissioners Court held another budget workshop Wednesday and then voted 4-1 to amend the proposed budget and the proposed property tax rate. The Court had previously proposed a property tax rate of $0.44439 per $100 of taxable value.

Superintendent Andy McHazlett gave an update of the first weeks of the school year and the first attendance report of the 2026-27 school year at Monday night’s meeting. He was happy to report that the district started the year will 100% professional certified staff.
