Fayette County Fair Best of Department Winners

BEST OF THE CREATIVE ARTS DEPARTMENT From left, Jensen Sutherland won best of department in the child division for a ship; Austin Anderson won best of department in the teen division for a chair; Anissa Menefee won best of department in the adult division for a puzzle; Marcia Burchard won best of department in the semi-professional division for an orange purse; Kayli Head won best of department in the professional division for a wreath.

Sadie Neuman, 9, won Best of Department for her wildlife art.

BEST OF PHOTOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT From left, Jensen Sutherland won best of department in the child division; Lorretta Greenwood won best of department in the adult division; Denise Winter won best of department in the senior division; Kim Anderson won best of department in the semi-professional division. BEST OF THE AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT From left, best of show in the ag department and grand champion farm products went to Matt Joost and Joost Ag Partners for 10 ears of corn; grand champion pecans went to Becky Garlick for a plate of Kiowa pecans; grand champion garden products went to Dr. James Tiemann (represented by his wife Nita Tiemann) for a plate of habanero peppers; grand champion honey went to to Whitney Bass, who is being held by reserve champion honey winner Ann Lyons.

BEST OF THE BAKED GOODS DEPARTMENT From left, Jensen Sutherland won best of department in the child division for a beer bread entry; Joshua Nigh won best of department in the teen division for blueberry crumble bars; Glenna Laffey won best of department in the senior division for angel cake. Not pictured was Emmalee Laffey, who won best of department in the adult division for Italian bread.

Also in the creative arts department, Michael Birchard won best of department in the senior division for a wooden bowl.

BEST OF THE FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT From left, Justin Jasek won best of department in the teen division for an entry titled “Beachy Ocean Frog,” Lyndsey Vasek won best of department in the adult division for an entry titled “Black and White Cat,” and Ina Feye Tilly won best of department in the senior division for an entry titled “Rooted and Grounded.” Not pictured was Sadie Naumann, who won best of department in the child division for an entry titled “Fish.”

Also in the Ag Department, George Eilert won grand champion large size entry for a watermelon.

BEST OF THE 4-H DEPARTMENT From left, best of department in the junior division went to Stuckton Emshoff for a faded fungi photo; best of department in the intermediate division went to Logan Schwenke for a tractor painting; best of department in the senior division went to Caden Tovey for a lamp.
