RT Bible Study

Senior Citizen Day

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Game day will be held the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Any questions, call Liz Tannler (281) 5431976 .

Bingo in Ledbetter

Bingo for Seniors (60 and older plus guests) Ledbetter Community Center Sunday, Sept. 13 from 2 - 4 p.m. Doors open at 1:3 p.m. $5.00/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips/snacks and drinks available for free will donation.

American Legion Post, Auxiliary Meeting

The American Legion Post and American Legion Auxiliary No. 102 invite members and prospective new members to attend their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the VFW Home on Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fairgrounds in La Grange. Auxiliary members are encouraged to attend and show their continued support for our veterans, military families, and the important work of the American LegionAuxiliary. Upcoming discussion topics include Poppy distribution, membership marketing, and the upcoming Military Appreciation Dinner and Dance, to be held at the KC Hall in La Grange on Saturday, Sept. 12, along with other important business and community projects. New members and those interested in learning more about the American Legion Auxiliary are always welcome to attend for more information-there’s always room for one more at the table. A light meal and fellowship will begin the evening, followed by the regular business meeting. Come hungry, bring your ideas, and join as we continue serving those who have served our country.

Memorial Dinner and Speaker

Friends N Fellowship at New Life Methodist church is hosting a Memorial dinner and speaker on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 5:30 p.m. Retired FBI agent David Smith will speak about various cases he was involved with and about 9/11.

City of La Grange System Update

Due to a scheduled system upgrade, the City of La Grange’s payment processing system will be unavailable on Friday, Sept. 11. The city will be unable to accept utility, municipal court, or permitting payments on that date. Any previously scheduled payments will be processed as usual once the system upgrade is complete. Please make arrangements to ensure your payment is received by the applicable due date. If you have any questions, please call (979) 968-5805. Wildlife Management Co-op Fall Meeting The North Central Fayette County Wildlife Management Coop is having their annual fall meeting on Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Social begins at 4 p.m. and the meeting starts at 5 p.m. with a meal to follow. There will be multiple speakers giving informative programs, door prizes and a bucket raffle. St. James BBQ & Bake Sale

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a BBQ and the Episcopal Women a bake sale on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This BBQ is for the benefit of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

Live Music Monday

Lee County Senior Center, located at 165 W. Austin in Giddings, will host Live Music on Monday, Sept. 14 from 6-8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Music will feature Glen Orts and Joey Krchnak. Monetary donations will be donated to the talent. For more information, call (512) 762-4343.

Fayette County Retired Teachers

Fayette County Retired Teachers (FCRTA) will have their first meeting of 2026/2027 on Monday, Sept. 14 at the New Life Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 1215 N. Von Minden Street in La Grange. The Ice Cream Social, a time to visit and catch up on summer events while savoring delicious ice cream, will begin at 1:45 p.m. followed by the meeting starting at 2 p.m. If you attend this meeting you are on track to be the winner of a $20 HEB gift card. FCRTA members who attend all five regular business meetings (September, November, January, February, and June) are eligible to participate in this drawing. At the meeting, new members will be introduced, plans for the year will be decided, and we will end our Summer with a beach ball.

Plum Hermann Sons Life Plum Hermann Sons Life will meet Monday, Sept. 14 at Las Fuentes Restaurant in La Grange at 5 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend.

VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary to Meet On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Fayette Memorial VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary of La Grange will gather together at 5 p.m. for dinner followed by respective meetings at 6 p.m. This takes place in the VFW Post Home at the La Grange Fairgrounds. Members are highly encouraged to attend and see what the VFW Post and Auxiliary are all about. Potential members are always welcome.

Pietsch Benefit Dinner & Auction

Tara Pietsch is recovering from surgery due to a rare Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma and will be facing chemotherapy. A benefit dinner and auction will be held at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall on Saturday, Sept. 19 with doors opening at 4 p.m. Pulled pork dinner plates with sides and trimmings are $15 each. Walk up, drive-thru or dine in. Live and silent auction begins at 6:30 p.m. 50/50 raffle, cash bar and set ups. DJ Music provided by Lathan Stall. Vietnam Veterans Meeting

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 will meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall located in Ammannsville. Food and refreshments will be available after the meeting. Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.
