Blessing of the Pets

Sacred Heart Catholic School recently hosted its annual Blessing of the Pets event where the school welcomed all students’ and parishioners’ pets. The Sixth Grade class led the ceremony with Scripture and song. Then Father Chris Smith blessed all who were present before blessing pets individually. The ceremony honors St. Francis of Assisi, patron of all animals. The faithful ask for his intercession in our lives to help us be good stewards of God’s creatures.
