LGISD Thanked for its Aid to Salvation Army

Jesse Lednicky, the Veterans Service Officer for Fayette County and also the Chairman of the Salvation Army addressed the board at Monday night’s meeting.

He told the board that as a veteran service officer, he had needs for some of the local veterans that were struggling to meet their home needs or home life. He said that is why he that’s why he started the Salvation Army organization here.

He told the board that Special Education Director Codi Kadlecek contacted him about getting the special needs students involved with the bell ringing.

When Kadlecek told the administration about this, Mr. McHazlett indicated that he would like to help as well. Then Coach Cooper also came with some of the coaching staff and student athletes. During the times those three groups participated, they collected $719.66, $871.72, and $1,070.42.

The total raised during the season was over $5,300 with the members of LGISD raising about half of that total.

Lednicky said, “So anyway, just wanted to say a special thank you.”

He then presented the board, “an honorary brand new, never been rung yet” Salvation Army bell to use next year.
