The Catholic Union of Texas, KJT Society No. 46 La Grange, is hosting their annual drive-thru only chicken fajita dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the La Grange KC Center. Advanced tickets sold at the KJT Home Office, 214 E. Colorado St., La Grange, or call (979) 9685877. Limited tickets are available at the drive-thru. Tickets are $14 each and 50% of the net proceeds will be donated to the AMEN Food Pantry of La Grange. Bake sale proceeds will also be donated to the AMEN Food Pantry of La Grange with a matching grant from the KJT Home Office.

LG Ghost Tour Sells Out – Twice

Local folks love a good ghost story so much that the Fayette Community Theatre’s first ever Ghost Tours of La Grange bus tour sponsored by Fayette Savings set for Nov. 1 sold out almost as soon as the tickets went online.

Trick-Or-Treat on the Square a Day Early

Halloween is on a Friday night this year, but because of all the Friday night events kids (and parents) are involved in, the Trick-or-Treat in the square event in La Grange (which draws thousands to downtown every year) will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday Oct. 30 this year.

Michelle Recek Remembered at Oct. LGISD Board Meeting

The La Grange ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, Oct. 20. Here are some of the highlights from that meeting: Special recognition was given for a $200 donation to the needy student fund in honor of Michelle Recek (former teacher who passed away last year,) supporting students in financial need. Along with the donation was a comment written by Leticia Solorzano and Sharon Novak. They wrote, “Michelle was more than an educator. She was a devoted mother, a cherished friend, and a fierce advocate for her students.

STATE BOUND SOUND!

For only the second time in school history, and for the second consecutive year, the La Grange High School marching band has qualified for the state marching competition. The Leps punched their ticket to state by placing fifth (out of 28 teams) at the UIL Area D marching competition Saturday in Pflugerville with their show “Flower Power.”
