The number of COVID-19 cases in Fayette County, as of Sunday night, had dropped to its lowest level in months. County officials were reporting there were 19 confirmed active cases here and six probable cases.
What was left of the 93rd annual Fayette County Fair kicked off Thursday. Severely limited by pandemic precautions, the Queen’s Contest was one of the few things that seemed mostly normal the fair.
A Fayette County Grand Jury indicted 37-year-old Billy Joel Polasek of La Grange for capital murder of a person under 10 years old. The indictment stems from the July 4, 2016 death of seven-month-old Logan Adkins of La Grange.

Harvest season is officially over. The corn is either stored in the grain bins or being sold. Citizens of La Grange/Fayette County can see grain trucks hauling the corn to local feed stores or grain storage bins.
