64 Transfer Kids Coming Into LGISD

Superintendent Andy McHazlett told the school board Monday there are a total of 64 students who were approved for transfer into the district for the 2026-27 school year. Of that number, 58 are returning students and 6 are new. There are 30 transfer students at the elementary campus, 14 at the middle school, and 20 at the high school.

La Grange ISD to Refinance Part of 2017 Bond Debt

At Monday night’s board meeting, the board approved the issuance of unlimited tax refunding bonds to refinance a portion of the district’s outstanding 2017 bond debt. The proposed refunding is intended to take advantage of favorable market conditions and lower interest rates, resulting in an estimated $2.5 million in debt service savings for district tax payers over the remaining life of the bonds, without extending the final maturity of the debt.

Neighbors Unite to Support JB Royer After Accident

A benefit fundraiser event will be held for JB Royer on Saturday, July 25, from 6-8 p.m. at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Admission is $10 per person. Food and drinks will be sold separately. It will be an evening of live music by the Black Cat Choir, dinner, drinks, and dessert. All goods and services are being donated. JB was seriously burned in a grease fryer accident while preparing food during the 4th of July parade at their Royer’s Round Top Café. All money raised at the fundraising event will go towards medical bills, surgeries, travel back and forth to Austin for wound care, medication, and many other necessary expenses.
