Shelter Has 59 Dogs, 49 Cats in Care

As of March 22, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 312: 177 dogs and 135 cats in need. As of March 22, the shelter has 108 animals in care: 59 dogs/49 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Tri-County Ministries Observing Holy Week, Easter Services

Congregations of the Tri-County Cooperative Ministries, ELCA will observe Holy Week and the Easter Celebration. We will gather for Maundy Thursday services, celebrating the Sacrament and remembering that night when Jesus gathered with His disciples and instituting the Lord’s Supper. And then Good Friday, when people of faith recall the great suffering Jesus endured and the death that came on the cross. And our Jesus goes to that cross for our salvation. He gives His all out of His love for all of us.

Optimist Club Easter Carnival Is This Thursday-Sunday in LG

Merriam’s Midway Carnival is returning to Fayette County Fairgrounds for Easter Weekend, March 28 - 31, sponsored by The La Grange Optimist Club. The carnival opens at 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free admission. All-you-can-ride armbands are $20.

Easter Sunrise Service To Be Held on the Bluff

When the sun first rises above the horizon in La Grange at 7:17 a.m. on Easter Sunday, the sounds of prayer and praise will be heard on the Bluff above La Grange.

Easter Traditions to Be Honored Saturday on the Bluff

This Saturday, March 30, Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host Easter on the Bluff, celebrating one of the most beloved Bluff Schuetzenverein traditions. This year’s event will feature living history programs, children’s egg hunts, games, and an Easter fire. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics, beverages, chairs or blankets, and flashlights.

Moreau would like to invite Fayette County out for an evening of community and music, in partnership with the Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series. Join on Tuesday, March 26 from 5-8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Guests are invited to come see the office, meet staff, and stay on the square to enjoy the talent of musician, Alex Meixner. Music starts at 6 p.m. and the event is free. Bring chairs or blankets and enjoy the JP2 office and Fayetteville Courthouse Music Series.
