Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of May. Deputy Ben Wilson responded to a disturbance between two persons at a residence off of Hallstedt Road.

The 150th Anniversary Committee at Holy Cross Lutheran is looking for people who would be willing to be interviewed about the history of Holy Cross and the Warda community for the 150th Anniversary book/video. Interviews are flexible and will be scheduled at a location, time and date that is convenient for you. Ellinger Mayor Matt Mikulenka said the City recently applied for a grant to pay for a new water filtration system. If awarded, the system could help to solve the community’s longstanding water quality problems.

The Second Chance Emporium has awarded St. Mark’s Medical Center (SMMC) more than $9,000 to purchase a Verathon Bladderscan device. The ultrasound device quickly and accurately measures bladder volume of both adult and pediatric patients to help eliminate unnecessary catheterizations.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) began accepting nominations for county committee members on June 15. Elections will occur in certain Local Administrative Areas (LAA) for these members who make important decisions about how federal farm programs are administered locally. All nomination forms for the 2021 election must be postmarked or received in the local FSA office by Aug. 2.
