La Grange Police Respond to Several Accidents and Burglary of a Vehicle
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of June 13-20.
Alarm
On June 13, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Lafayette for a residential alarm, which ended up being a false alarm.
On June 17, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to an alarm in the 500 block of S. Washington to an alarm call. Officer spoke with the owner who advised it was a false alarm.
Agency Assist
On June 13, Zwahr assisted the fire department with a power line that was on fire in the 400 block of S. Reynolds.
On June 20, Patrolman John Wostarek assisted EMS at One St. Mark’s Place.
Animal Complaint
On June 15, Patrolman Justin Koehne checked on an animal compliant in the 100 block of Charles.
On June 17, Patrolman David Mohr observed several head of cattle grazing in an unfenced area in the 1500 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer located the owner and had them pen the cattle.
On June 19, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 400 block of N Vail where caller advised her neighbors dogs keep coming onto her property and she is afraid her dog is going to hurt them. Officer found the puppies and placed them in a cage located at the neighbors’ home and gave them water. No one was at the neighbors’ home.
Assault By Threat
On June 18, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a threat.
Accident
On June 14, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of S. Jefferson for a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Officer gathered the information and completed an accident report.
On June 17, Sgt. Travis Anderson worked a two-vehicle accident at W. Travis and N. Jefferson.
On June 17, Currington spoke with a subject in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business about road debris she ran over on the highway. Subject was advised to refer to her insurance.
On June 18, Meinardus spoke with a caller that advised she was involved in a one-vehicle accident. Officer gathered the information and provided her with a driver’s crash report form.
On June 18, Koehne spoke with a subject about an accident that occurred the day before.
On June 19, Meinardus spoke with a caller who stated a vehicle backed into her vehicle then refused to give her any insurance and fled from the location. Officer gathered her information and will investigate the incident.
Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
On June 16, Currington was dispatched to Bluffview to speak with a subject about a burglary of a motor vehicle when he was at the RV park.
Citizen Assist
On June 16, Currington spoke with an individual in the lobby of the police station regarding information she wanted us to be aware of.

On June 17, Zwahr provided a courtesy ride for a subject from the hospital to a hotel.
On June 17, Mohr received a call from a citizen concerning a gun ordinance and open carry in the 100 block of Northpointe.
Disorderly Conduct
On June 17, Mohr responded to the 100 block of E. Pecan for loud music coming from a residence. Officer upon arrival met with the owner of the residence and asked him to turn the music down and he complied.
Disturbance
On June 14, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of Koenig where caller stated that the neighbors were fighting. Officer spoke to subject who stated that they were having an argument and that it never got physical.
On June 16, Mohr received a call to check with EMS for a female bleeding from the nose in the 500 block of Koenig.
On June 17, Zwahr responded to the 900 block of E. Eblin to a disturbance at the location. Citation was issued and information for a report was received.
On June 17, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Pecan for a disturbance.
On June 18, Zwahr responded to Koenig in regard to a verbal dispute. Officer arrived on location and subjects were separated for the evening.
On June 19, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Horton in regard to a disturbance.
Discharging Firearm
On June 17, Zwahr responded to the 500 block of Koenig where caller stated they heard three shots fired around White Rock Park. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the source.
Found Property
On June 18, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Colorado in regard to found property.
Juvenile Complaint
On June 17, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Travis in reference to a juvenile not minding their parent and yelling.
Property Damage
On June 19, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to property damage.
Suspicious Person
On June 13, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the 100 block of E. Colorado. Officer arrived and identified the person.
On June 15, Koehne responded to the 200 block of E. Cedar for a suspicious person walking. Officer was unable to locate the subject.
On June 17, Mohr received a call of a white male running around yelling in the parking lot in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Upon arrival, the officers were unable to locate anyone yelling.
On June 17, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of W. Lafayette in regard to two subjects sleeping and camping in the park. Officer had the subjects leave.
On June 17, Currington was dispatched for a subject camping and sleeping in the park in the 900 block of Hanacek. Officer had subject move due to camping.
On June 19, Koehne responded to the 1000 block of Sunset in reference to a suspicious person knocking on a door.
Theft
On June 17, Mohr responded to One St. Mark’s Place for a possible theft of a gold pennant.
Terroristic Threat
On June 18, Meinardus responded to the 400 block of E. Travis where caller stated that a subject at the location was threatening her. When officer arrived the subject fled from the location and officer gathered information.
Warrant Arrest
On June 15, Wostarek arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant in the 100 block of W. Fannin
On June 18, Koehne arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant in the 400 block of E. Travis.
Welfare Check
On June 14, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of Carroll for a subject laying in complainant’s yard. Officer checked on the subject who advised they were just resting in the shade and did not realize it was private property.
On June 16, Mohr received a call of a welfare check from a neighbor in the 700 block of S. Jefferson. Officer arrived and found subjects were out of town and no one was home.
On June 15, Maxwell was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Jackson in regard to a welfare check.
On June 17, Mohr received a call of a possible person screaming in the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer was unable to locate anyone screaming.
On June 18, Meinardus received a call advising that a subject left the hospital without being discharged and left with her IV still in. Officer checked on the subject in the 400 block of N. Vail and subject removed the IV and insisted she was fine.
Miscellaneous
On June 14, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of Highway 159 in regard to a reckless driver.
