To the editor: The author of a recent eyewitness report on the protest at George Washington University asks at the end of his article, “What does America’s future look like if her universities, the grounds of education for so many young Americans, host protesters who champion her demise?” American students have been deceived by educators who have taught them to accept lies of “American colonialism and imperialism.” Hamas is and has been known for a long time as a terrorist organization. Why are American students supporting their terrorism? Students have no right to pitch tents on campus grounds.

To the editor: Let’s know the other side to the story. I rarely address individual letters to the Editor, but I felt that Ms Reid’s letter last week needs some clarification on some of the things she addressed.

To the editor: It is very clear that Democrats have decided that the free America we’ve been living in for the last 248 years is a country they hate. They have, in the last 50 or so years, put a plan in place to destroy America.

To the editor: I am writing in response to the comments made by Commissioners Mc Broom and Berckenhoff as reported in Andy Behlen’s article in the May 7, 2024 issue of the Fayette County Record. On September 11, 2023 my wife and I contributed $750,000 to the first responders who dedicatedly serve Fayette County.

To the editor: The letter from last week “When Will They Ever Learn” was very illuminating. The author is apparently a person of greater intellect than myself.

Texas is one of 24 states that does NOT have a means for voters to petition for a ballot referendum. Furthermore, while Texas, like all other states except Delaware, DOES require voter ballot approval of all constitutional amendments, Texas is one of the 18 states that allow no other form of initiative, referendum, or recall. (Source: National Council of State Legislatures) Thus, no amount of voter signatures could trigger a statewide vote in Texas on things like legalizing marijuana, or changing the way electoral districts are apportioned, or recalling any elected official. (Could the threat of recall, for example, have made our Attorney General think twice before associating himself with a certain real estate developer and helped the state avoid the circus of an impeachment and trial that cost Texans over 4 million tax dollars?)
