Jumpathon Winners Crowned At Sacred Heart in LG

Fayette County Helpers (FCH) held a Jumpathon jump rope contest at Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange on Wednesday, March 6. Organizers Karen Forest, Jeff Kelly and Lisa Hayes spoke to the Sacred Heart second grade students about living a healthy lifestyle and how jump rope can build muscles and improve heart health.

Leps Go 2-2 at Home Tourney

The La Grange baseball team went 2-2 at their home tournament last week. The Leps started the tourney with a 2-1 win over Bellville as Brayden Horton pitched five innings of one-run ball, Ty Stark got the save and Hunter Sabo had two hits and two RBIs. In Friday’s early game the Leps lost 7-0 to La Vernia before bouncing back to beat Columbus 7-6 with Brock Loehr pitching a complete game and Colton Klesel collecting two hits. Saturday the Leps lost to Sealy 15-3.

LG Track Wins Team Titles at Columbus

The La Grange varsity boys and girls both won the team titles at the Columbus meet Thursday. The La Grange boys won the team title with 180.5 points over second place Columbus, which had 134.

LG Soccer Teams End Season With Split Against Smithville

The La Grange girls soccer team ended its season with a penalty kick loss at home to Smithville Friday. Florencia Barron scored the lone goal for the Lady Leps in regulation before Smithville prevailed 6-5 in extra kicks. The Lady Leps finished district in fifth place and will miss the postseason.
Eight La Grange girls senior soccer players played in their final match Friday at home, including: Brisa Angel, Natalie Orona, Analia Gonzalez, Bianca Veitch, Yanira Galvan, Jena Jobb, Phoebe Tucker, Hillary Jahn, all pictured above with head coach Lauren Hubbert.
