Flatonia Baseball Team Beats Schulenburg to Keep Rolling

The Flatonia baseball team beat Schulenburg 4-1 Tuesday as the Bulldogs improved to 8-1 this season and 2-0 in district.

Schulenburg fell to 7-7 overall and 1-1 with the loss.

Flatonia’s Titan Targac threw six innings of two-hit ball, striking out 16.

Cale Janecka pitched the final inning for the save.

For Schulenburg Connor Fogle and Brycen Schramek combined on the pitching outing.

Reid Janda drove in Jayse Janda with the only Shorthorn run.

Bulldogs Win Three in Mike Schulze Memorial Baseball Classic

The Flatonia Bulldogs won three games over the weekend in the 2024 Flatonia- Mike Schulze Memorial Baseball Classic.

On Thursday, Flatonia opened up with a 5-0 victory over East Bernard. Blake Kessler earned the win on the mound by giving up just one hit and had 4 K’s.

Raymond Toro had a double, while Beck Zimmerman and Titan Targac each had singles. Cale Janecka picked up two RBI’s.

Targac earned the win on Friday vs Tidehaven and the Bulldogs won by a 6-1 score.

Railey Nieto led the way with three hits. Hitters getting two hits apiece included: Diego Ramirez, Tripp Bowling, Zimmerman, and Targac.

Targac knocked in two RBI’s.

The Bulldogs defeated Port Aransas 6-4 on Saturday to wrap up the tournament. Diego Ramirez notched the win in relief of Janecka and Henri Vincik.

Vincik had three hits and two RBI’s vs Port A.

Last Tuesday, Flatonia opened up district play at home vs Bloomington with a 25-0 victory.

Targac and Ramirez teamed up to pitch a three inning no-hitter.

Janecka had two hits vs the Bobcats. Kessler knocked in four RBI’s, while Toto had three RBI’s. Hitters picking up two RBI’s apiece included: Rambo Ramirez, Diego Ramirez, Richard Valdez, and Vincik.

Friday, March 15 the Dogs will host Ganado at 7 p.m. The JV’s will play at 5 p.m. game.
