Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Hosting Good Friday, Easter Services in Muldoon

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church will be hosting both Good Friday and Easter Sunday activities. Starting with Good Friday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m., they will be hosting a movie night. The featured movie will be “The Forge” a movie from the creators of “The War Room.” Don’t worry about supper. Hot dogs, chips and a little something sweet will be provided. Just come and enjoy the evening.

The Winchester Area Civic Association will be offering a scholarship to a person(s) enrolled or enrolling in an institute of higher learning for careers in the professions helping in the community such as nursing, teaching, criminology/peace officer, fire sciences, dental, radiology/ imaging, EMT certification/ paramedic or other degree that will help in this or your future community. The application deadline is April 24, 2025.

Carmine Lions Club Welcomes New Members

The Carmine Lions Club met Feb. 11 at the Firemen’s Annex.

Two new members were installed at the February meeting. Mark Odom III was sponsored by Jamie Odom and Dan Grabsky was sponsored by David Kieke.

Volunteers are needed to work the MS 150 bike ride, which will come through Carmine on April 27. The hours will be 6-10 a.m. at the Carmine State Bank parking lot.

The Little Library at the Carmine City Park is needing books for small children age 2 through Kindergarten and also for adults.

Jamie Odom sponsored Mark Odom III as a new member of the Carmine Lions Club. Dan Grabsky was also inducted as a new member. Marlene Waak is president of the club.

Theater Seeks Items for Fayetteville Time Capusle

Time capsules offer glimpses into a time gone by, preserving the character, spirit and resilience of a close community. Items for the weatherproof, metal time capsule created by the Fayette County Community Center & Performance Theater are currently being collected.
