Out and About
Pam Sheffield has been traveling recently. She went to Dallas with girlfriends Darlyn, Debbie, and Vicki. They were attending their friend Jenni‘s son’s wedding held at a ranch outside of Dallas. Once back in Houston, Pam stayed busy having dinner with her sister Michele one evening, then attending a gymnastics class with her two youngest granddaughters, Larkin and Shelby. The next three days, Pam spent with her two older grandkids, Hayley and Ben. They went to the movies, bowling, played arcade games and went out for ice cream. While at home, they cooked meals, played games and watched movies together. Then they celebrated Ben’s 11th birthday at Willie’s for lunch one day with relatives. Two days later, Pam watched the kids at a rock-climbing gym and enjoyed a meal at a Japanese restaurant for more birthday celebrations. Lots of fun family time.
James and I went to Fort Worth for a few days. While in Fort Worth I took advantage of the time and got to visit a few quilt shops that were participating in the All Texas Quilt Shop Hop. It is fun seeing all the different shops and how they are setup and decorated, along with all the fabric. One evening we enjoyed having supper with our old friends, Kimberly and Chuck Galvaletz, Donna and Bill Koester and Mary Ann Parker at the Galvaletz home. Then we took a day to enjoy the Fort Worth RV Show at the AT&T Stadium.
Wild Winds
Muldoon has been seeing some wild winds lately. Strong winds and even stronger wind gusts caused some damage in the area. One tree on West FM 2237 was blown into the east bound lane a little bit. It was trimmed back some to make passing easier without having to worry about getting vehicles scratched. Others had a tree blow down and block their driveway. Many other experienced some “self-pruning” of branches of their trees all around their property.
The strong winds did nothing for the lack of moisture in the area. There has been some due in the early mornings, but it was evaporated by midmorning. Rain is much needed in the area. The wild flowers are trying hard to come out and start blooming, but the lack of rain has stunted that start.
