C The Carmine Lions Club will have its June meeting a week early. It will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at Windmill Ranch Lodge, 1403 W Hwy 290, Carmine, beginning at 6 p.m.

Speed Family Reunion June 14 in Muldoon

M The annual Speed family reunion will be happening on the Saturday, June 14 at the Muldoon Mercantile in downtown Muldoon. All descendants of Frank, Tom and Bob Speed are invited to come out and touch base with the rest of the family for “the cousin party.” Come about 10 a.m.

Aaron and Elizabeth Dittrich of San Antonio are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Anastasia Estelle Dittrich, born on April 28, 2025. She weighed 6 lbs. and 14 oz. and measured 19 inches in length.

St. Paul Quilting Group Enjoys Appreciation Lunch

F For over 30 years, members of the church quilting group, led by Jeanette Brown and comprised of ladies of all denominations, have gathered twice a month at St. Paul Lutheran church to create quilts of all sizes for distribution to numerous charitable organizations.

Annual CCA Casino Night June 6

The 20th Annual CCA Casino Nite is being held on June 6 at the St. Michael’s Park Pavilion at 310 Frio Street in Winchester. Come and roll the dice, place your bets, and join us for a high-energy night of fun and fundraising. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with gaming starting at 7 p.m. There are two ticket options: a VIP ticket for $75 will include dinner, drinks/BYOB, and $30,000 in gaming tokens; the general ticket is $50 and includes dinner, drinks/BYOB, and $10,000 in gaming tokens. Cowboy Church Youth to Attend Camp WOW

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church hosted the executive director of the American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches (AFCC.) He answered questions for SG2C on how joining the AFCC would benefit the church. SG2C is looking forward to summer and have lots of plans for the younger members of the church.

Quilted Throws Presented to CASA

Round Top-Carmine high school baseball team was to have played in the Regional Finals in a best of three series on May 22 and possibly May 24 at Fireman’s Park in Brenham with Fayetteville as the opponent.
Martin Luther Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA Quilting Group presented fleece quilted throws to CASA of Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee Counties for their use. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) improve the lives of children who experience child abuse and neglect in these counties. They train these advocates to support children and families involved in the child welfare system.
