Carmine Lions Club to Meet June 3
The Carmine Lions Club will have its June meeting a week early. It will be held on Tuesday, June 3 at Windmill Ranch Lodge, 1403 W Hwy 290, Carmine, beginning at 6 p.m. This meeting will include installation of the 2025-2026 officers. A baked potato meal will be served.
WELCA Salad Supper
The Women of the ELCA of Martin Luther Lutheran Church will sponsor its annual Salad Supper and Program on June 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall with the theme “Let Freedom Ring.”
Jane Press will give a presentation on “The Flag.” Come early to gather and visit.
RT-C School News
Congratulations to the Round Top-Carmine high school baseball team for a great season. It came to an end at the Regional Finals on May 22 with Fayetteville as the opponent. The community is very proud of the Cubs.
Registration is now open for sports summer camps.
Incoming seventh through twelfth graders may come for strength and conditioning Monday - Friday from 8-9 a.m. on June 2-July 15. This is free. No workouts June 30July 4.
Summer skill workout is also June 2-July 15 and it is free. Incoming seventh through twelfth graders are welcome from 9-10 a.m. Baseball and volleyball is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and basketball on Tuesdays and Thursdays. No workout June 30-July 4.
Basketball Camp is July 16-18 for first to fourth graders from 9-10:30 a.m. For fifth to eighth graders, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; and for ninth to twelfth graders, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Cost is $60 and registration must be received by June 27.
Volleyball Camp is July 29-31. It is from 12-1:30 p.m. for first to fourth graders; 1:30-3:30 p.m. for fifth to eighth graders; and 8-11 a.m. for high school. Cost is $60 and register by July 18.
Baseball Camp is also July 29-31. It is from 1-2:30 p.m. for first to fourth graders; 2:30-4:30 for fifth to eighth graders; and 9:30-12:30 for ninth to twelfth graders. Cost is $60 and register by July 18.

Administrative offices will be open May 28-Aug. 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Offices will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday June 30-July 4.
Flag Disposal
If anyone has worn or unserviceable United States or Texas flags to dispose of, the Carmine Chamber of Commerce has bins available for drop off at The Village Market, Carmine Post Office, and Museum/Depot on Sylvan Street.
Every October, the chamber hosts Carmine Night Out, where the Quade-Werchan Post 338 American Legion members conduct a flag retirement ceremony.

The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department meets June 12 for drill night at 6 p.m.

Chamber Casino Night
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce has announced the date for the 2025 Casino Night, Aug. 9. The theme is “Casino Night 007” and will be at the Carmine Hall beginning at 6 p.m.

MLLC News
Senior Citizens meal pick-up and domino party is Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building. AA meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Sunday School is Sunday at 9 a.m.
Worship with Holy Communion observing the Day of Pentecost is Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Ken Weiss will serve as the guest pastor.
Quilting for Lutheran World Relief is Monday at 9 a.m.
Recycle Trailers
The recycling trailers are at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from 1 - 4 p.m.
Clean milk cartons should be kept separate from the other No. 2 plastics. They also accept clean No. 1 plastic bottles and jugs. Note that numbers 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 plastics and plastic bags are not accepted.
Also accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. Attendants are available to help unload.
