Cowboy Church Youth to Attend Camp WOW
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church hosted the executive director of the American Fellowship of Cowboy Churches (AFCC.) He answered questions for SG2C on how joining the AFCC would benefit the church.
SG2C is looking forward to summer and have lots of plans for the younger members of the church. The youth will be attending the Oklahoma AFCC Cowboy Camp at Camp WOW (Walk On Water.) The teens are will be going to Camp Walk on Water and AFCC Cowboy Camp. Miss Amy, the youth leader, is expecting to take 12-15 kids this year. What an exciting summer for these young Christian kids are going to have. If you are interested in the youth program, please attend any of the SG2C gatherings.
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church meets every Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. to start the morning off with coffee, doughnuts and fellowship. At 10 a.m the worship service begins. They welcome everyone to drop in and check them out. This active church has become a real asset to our small community.
Graduations
Carl and Carolyn Caflisch traveled to Starkville, Miss. to see their last granddaughter graduate from Mississippi State University. Marion Groberg is graduating with a dual degree and has accepted a position in an engineering leadership development program. She will be headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut with Pratt & Whitney, beginning late June. But immediately following graduation, she is flying to London to begin a journey she has been planning for a year. She will be traveling several countries including France, Germany, Austria, Hungary before returning to Austin. Ron and Pam Knotts recently attended the kindergarten graduation for their grandson, Troy Knotts. He attends Liberty Christian School in Argyle, and the five kindergarten classes put on a great show.
A cupcake reception followed the ceremony and everyone took lots of pictures. Each class and guests then returned to their classrooms for video memories and special presentations of awards. It was a great celebration and send off for summer.
Out and About
Nancie Blair traveled to picked up great grandson Luke Simpson. She and Billy Blair got to enjoy a Saturday with Luke all while playing with a bunch of Luke’s new toys.
Roberta Gullick enjoyed Mothers’ Day with lunch at daughter and son-in-law, Krispin and Mike’s home. Joining in the fun was daughter Cindy and granddaughter Ashlynn LaPointe and her children. Everyone had fun swimming and playing inside in the cool.
I went to Austin to retrieve grandson Ira Ivy for a play day in the country. Ira also got to play with his Uncle Bobby Ivy and got to drive the tractor and see the cows before going back to home.
