W This past weekend friends from both Fayette and Lee County joined together to participate in the 2023 POC Crawfish Fest Cook-off in Port O’Connor. They brought home Peoples Choice and 4th Place Crawfish.

Shelter to Help With Fayetteville Stray Animal Issue The City of Fayetteville has announced they are working in conjunction with the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter to find homes for stray or feral animals that are caught within the city limits.

Holy Cross Lutheran in Warda celebrated its 150th anniversary last Sunday. The combined services had an attendance of 488 people.

Homeward Bound presents “Deep in the Paws of Texas” fundraiser gala benefiting the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter on Saturday, May 13 at The Big Red Barn. The venue will be transformed to portray the glamorous nostalgia of country icons of the past.

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association met on Monday, April 10, at the La Grange First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The fellowship time was hosted by Kathy Migl, Jeanne Wetjen, Debbie Morrill. The raffle item (to benefit the Childrens’Book Project) was given by Marian Tjachman.

La Grange Elementary held its annual Second Grade Plant Show on Friday, April 21. The second graders under the direction of their teachers, including Maria Lopez Lugo, began growing their plants several weeks ago.

C News Blood Drive A Blood Drive will be held this Sunday, April 30 from 9:30 until 2 p.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in conjunction with Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top.
