Amanda Hart completed the MS 150 on Sunday, April 30 after biking from Austin to Kyle Field in College Station. She would like to thank the sponsorship of the Winchester Area Civic Association and all the community members and others who donated to fundraising efforts which support the National MS Society as they work to create a world free of MS.

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, May 15 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

Fayette County 4-H members competed in the District 11 4-H Livestock Judging Contest on Saturday, April 15 in Bryan. The Fayette County 4-H Junior Maroon Team placed 1st overall.

Kitten and puppy season is here, and the intake is climbing. As of April 28, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 492: 267 dogs and 225 cats in need. As of April 28, the shelter has 113 animals in care: 52 dogs/61 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Summer is quickly approaching and La Grange Noon Lions Club members turned out in numbers to help install some shade tarps for the animals at Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter serving Fayette County.

The Original Round Top Western Vintage Fashion Show held on March 23 during the Spring Round Top Antique Show at Cisco Village proved to be another successful fundraiser. Dirty Bohemian hosted its second Western Vintage Fashion Show at The Crown Bar’s Cisco Village location.
