Big Turn Out for Fayetteville Chamber Mixer

Over 75 members and soon-to-be members enjoyed the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce mixer held on April 27. Members of the board are so grateful for the amazing turnout. Many thanks to Amy and Brian Brown for hosting the first mixer of the year at Prohibition Liquor and to the City for providing us with extra space for all the treats on the grounds of City Hall. ArtWalk
Everyone should join in our annual juried fine art festival this weekend featuring nearly 60 artists selling their original works, from paintings to sculpture, photography to ceramics. In addition to unique, hand-crafted wares, ArtWalk offers kids activities, live music, wine tastings, food and more. It all starts on Saturday at 10 a.m. Hours for Sunday are 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Trudy Lynn and the Steve Krase Band are offering up an exceptional mix of blues, R&B and soul music like you’ve never heard before Satuday night at 6 p.m. Follow ARTS on Facebook.
Food Pantry
The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, May 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. This will no longer be a drive-thru food distribution. Clients will walk up to the entrance and are asked to bring bags or carts for pickup.
KC Shrimp Boil
For an evening of food, fun, and entertainment, mark your calendars for the Fayetteville/ Ellinger Knights of Columbus Shrimp Boil at St John’s Pavilion in Fayetteville on Friday, May 19. It all kicks off with complementory keg beer offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A shrimp meal will be cooked by Cajun Cookers. Mike Stroup, Annie Rost and friends will be serving up tunes from Americana to Western Swing to Country.
A silent auction and a sportsman’s card raffle will be held. Meal tickets can be purchased at Fayetteville Bank, Fayetteville Propane, and by emailing info@kc3168.com (include your name, phone number and number of tickets you would like) or call (979) 966-7961.
Summertime Classic
Another great bike ride will be rolling through town soon. The 26th Annual Good Old Summertime Classic bike ride will start off from our town square on Sunday, June 4. The ride is organized this year by the Fayetteville school, with proceeds benefitting the Education Foundation and Athletics department. T-shirt sponsors are needed please, with costs of $100for individuals and $200 for businesses. Contact us no later than May 10. Mark your calendar for this annual event that thas raised over $130,000 for FISD over the years. Lots more updates to come.
