Last week’s La Grange Rotary pancake supper served about 1,300 clients, including children six and under (free), according to Rotary organizer Don Jones. “Our net profits will fund our scholarships this spring – which has been a focus of this Rotary program started by Richard and Nelda Barton. Our sponsors support the event by paying the cost of our outlay for product,” Jones said. Contributions from your neighbors comes from the Deters family and Whataburger. Eggs come from Cal-Maine in Flatonia.

Shelter Has 110 Animals In Their Care

As of Feb. 2, the total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 128: 65 dogs and 63 cats in need. As of Feb. 2, the shelter has 110 animals in care: 61 dogs/49 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Holy Cross Game Day Slated Feb. 15

The next Game Day at Holy Cross will be held on Thursday, Feb. 15 from noon-2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Lunch is served and bingo, dominoes and other games are enjoyed by all. Everyone is welcome to attend.
