Larry Wayne Fleck, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in West Point, on Oct. 25, 2022.

Edwin W. Arndt, 84, of Carmine and Houston, passed away on Oct.

LoriAlice Berger, 63, passed away on Oct. 28 at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, after a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 24, 1959, in Weimer, the daughter of Robert Mica and Juanita (Smith) Benzer. Lori graduated from Flatonia High School in 1978, as an active member of the school’s marching band, golf team and Future Farmers of America. Following graduation, she dedicated her life to her family, several successful local businesses, her community, and public service; she called Flatonia home for 63 years. Lori was honored to serve as a member of the Flatonia City Council and to serve as Mayor of Flatonia from 1998 to 2006. Lori also served on the boards of Fayette Memorial Hospital, and St. Mark’s Medical Center. She was co-chair of Flatonia Czhilispiel and parade marshal of Czhilispiel 47. She was a member of the Flatonia ISD Education Foundation and Flatonia Chamber of Commerce. She was co-owner of Smith Farms, Incorporated in Flatonia. She was also the previous co-owner of the Wishing Well and, more recently, the Wine Haus restaurant on Main Street. She worshipped at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia.

Dianne Marie Allen passed away peacefully with her husband and many family members by her side at home in Richmond, on Oct. 24, 2022.

Carolyn Jane (Farrack) Lehmann Fritsche, 78, of La Grange, passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022. Carolyn was born in Giddings, on May 31, 1944, the daughter of Herbert and Irma (Berger) Farrack. She was baptized on June 18, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. She was confirmed on March 30, 1958, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Houston. She graduated in 1962 from Spring Branch High School in Houston.

Sally Irene (Smith) Beettner, 62, of La Grange, passed from this life into Eternal Life on Oct. 22, 2022.

Judith Evon (Snipe) Mechura, 76, of Flatonia, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.

Funeral services for Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Schautschick, 70 of Manheim, were held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Giddings American LegionYork Post 276, immediately followed in the church cemetery. Ronald Wayne Schautschick was born on April 30, 1952 in Giddings, the son of Albert Eldor Schautschick and Evelyn Dorine (Schubert) Schautschick.

Pohl J.C Pohl, 84, passed away peacefully at CHI St. Joseph in Funeral services for J.C Pohl were held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with Pastor David Tinker officiating. Interment to follow in the Carmine Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 8.pm. with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
