Clarence A. Pietsch, Jr., 76, of La Grange, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.

Clarence was born in La Grange on April 12, 1946, the son of the late Clarence A. Pietsch, Sr. and Adeline Lorine (Schramm). He was one of two children. His friends and family called him June.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Clarence was a farmer and rancher. Out of high school he worked on the Gray Ranch, at the La Grange Cotton Gin and Leonard Meuth Implements. He never hesitated to take over for his father after he fell ill. He also grew and harvested peanuts. His passion was farming and his cattle.

He was very proud to graduate from Round Top Carmine High School in 1964. He enjoyed his time with his classmates at their class reunions.

Clarence was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda and was very active in his church. In his spare time, he loved hunting, bowling, being on his John Deere Tractor, and spending time with his family and friends. He bowled in several leagues throughout the years. He also loved to tell you stories from when he was younger.

He married the love of his life, Nancy Zingelmann, in La Grange, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Nov. 7, 1992. They were married for 30 wonderful years and blessed with five nieces and nephews and their families.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Zingelmann Pietsch; brother, Larry Pietsch and wife, Marsha of La Grange; sister-in law, Sherian Tofel of La Grange; brother-in law, Charles Zingelmann and wife, Kathy of La Grange; uncle, James Schramm and wife, Cedell of La Grange; aunt, Mary Ann Pietsch of La Grange; uncle, Henry Nietenhoefer of Hondo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother- in law and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral Services were held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 FM 1482 in Warda, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022. Burial followed at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Warda.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross General Fund, P.O. 69,Warda 78960 or Hospice Brazos Valley, La Grange, 1048 N. Jefferson St., La Grange.
