Wenke

Lillian Mae Meier Handrick Wenke passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022 at her home in Serbin, at the age of 102 years, 11 months, and 12 days.

Lillian was born on Dec. 18, 1919 in Lincoln to Henry and Lydia (Boriack) Meier. Lillian was united in marriage with Karl Handrick on Oct. 1, 1944 at St. John Lutheran in Lincoln by Rev. Stroeble. This union was blessed with one son, Charles. Karl passed away on June 20, 1967. Lillian married Quinten Wenke on Sept. 17, 1976 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. Emil Kruegler. Quinten passed away on March 11, 2000.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery in Giddings.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin or to the charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
