Shirley Ann Coufal Cmajdalka, 82, passed away on May 30, 2025 at Kruse Village in Brenham. The daughter of Rueben and Rosalie (Fick) Coufal, she grew up in Willow Springs, Texas and was baptized at Industry Brethren Church.

Edwin Francis Muras, 77, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025. He was born on Dec. 1, 1947, to Vaclav “Jim” and Leona (Janacek) Muras and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.

Melvina Rose Benesch Sheridan passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, in La Grange. She was born Dec. 25, 1939 in Gober, Texas to Richard Charles and Mollie Alice Benesch; she was named after her two grandmothers.

Ann Konecny Holman passed away May 22, 2025 just 10 days shy of her 95th birthday. She was born in Shiner to Agnes and William Konecny but raised in Schulenburg. She graduated from Schulenburg High School and had the distinction of being the first Drum Major for the Schulenburg Marching Band. While attending a basketball game against Weimar, a young Wildcat caught her eye. The player had wavy hair and blue eyes but she recalled he was also a show boat making behind the back passes and sliding on the floor while keeping his dribble alive. The player’s name was Phil Holman and little did she know a few years later he would become her husband. They married in 1949.

Brenda Gale (Naumann) Varner, 64, of Muldoon, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Brenda was born in La Grange on Nov.

Margie Ann Rosenberg, affectionately known as Marge, passed away peacefully at her home in La Grange, on May 22, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on Sept. 20, 1934, in Wied, Texas, to Henry and Agnes Strauss, Marge was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and pillar of her community.

La Grange is mourning one of the longtime leaders of The Fayette County Fair. Marge Rosenberg died Thursday May 22 at her home in La Grange.

Sharon Marie (Krenek) Moore, affectionately known as Sherry to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in La Grange. Born on Jan. 2, 1958, in Columbus, Sherry was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her throughout her 67 years of life.

Gilbert Bohuslav, age 92, passed away on May 17, 2025. He was born to Willie Sr. and Agnes Parma Bohuslav, in Ammannsville. The youngest of three children, he graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1951. He received a baseball scholarship and played ball at Blinn College in Brenham. He enlisted in the Army in November 1952, and when he returned home, he graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in San Marcos. He later earned his master’s degree from Texas State University as well, in 1963.
