Melvin Ressmann, 84 passed away onApril 10, 2025 in Brenham. He was born on the family farm near New Ulm on June 11, 1940 to parents Charlie and Dessie Ressmann.

Theodore (Ted, Teddy) Smith was born on a snowy day 67 years ago on Feb. 10 to Andrew (from Chicago, Ill.) and Winifred (Winter) Smith (from Schulenburg).

Funeral services for Victor Parker Sr. were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Pastor Tracy S. Smith officiating. Burial followed in the St. Matthew Cemetery in Carmine.

Funeral services for Shirley Fischer, 87 of Ledbetter, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Rev. Joshua Hahn officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Hale Gene Wesley Hale, 93, of La Grange, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Gene was born in San Antonio on Feb.

James Emil Edwards was born in Houston on Oct. 11, 1982. He resided in Houston with his mom (Carolyn Matura Edwards) and his dad (James Morgan Edwards). On Aug. 6, 1985, James moved out to a small subdivision in Hockley where he made numerous friends. There was not one person who met James that did not find his sense of humor to be very entertaining and James’ laugh absolutely infectious.

Curtis Herbert Oltmann, Jr., a dedicated husband, loving father, amazing “Paw Paw,” and talented guitar player gained his angel wings on March 31, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 15, 1935, in Brenham, Curtis was a man whose life was marked by dedication, a friendly demeanor, and a loving heart, traits that endeared him to many throughout his life’s journey.
