Marge Rosenberg, Iconic Local Leader, Dies at 90

La Grange is mourning one of the longtime leaders of The Fayette County Fair.

Marge Rosenberg died Thursday May 22 at her home in La Grange. She was 90.

Rosenberg was the first female president in the fair’s history, and was a member of the Fayette County Fair Association since 1982.

She was instrumental in the growth and development of the Fair Queen’s Scholarship Contest and expanded the fair’s overall scholarship program into its current format that rewards dozens of area graduates every year.

Rosenberg’s impact on the way the fair operated and her volunteer impact was so significant that the main entertainment stage at the fair was named The Marge Rosenberg Stage several years ago.

Rosenberg’s funeral will be at 10 a.m. June 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange. A full obituary will be in an upcoming edition of the newspaper.
