La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department repsonded to during the week of Sept. 26 through Oct.

Oct. 19-22, 1971 Two suspects were in custody and a third still was being sought in an armed robbery at Brown’s Store at Elm Grove near Cistern.

In addition, they contributed to the success of our show by donating items, helping with our auction and providing help wherever needed. Jenifer has been in the leadership role since the first Fayette County Commercial Heifer Show & Sale (FCCHS&S) began in the 1980’s. She develops and manages the sales catalog and billing for buyers at the FCCHS&S each year. In another program, Fayette County Junior Livestock Show, Jenifer has helped the program from a “paper and pencil” system to a computer-based program to manage the cattle entries and sales. David, with his family, owns and operates Boening’s Repair Shop, Inc. Their community support has been a huge asset to the Fayette County 4-H and FFA cattle programs and to CVICA.

An old honor roll was received from RTC ISD and printed in Friday’s newspaper. The correct honor roll for the first six weeks of this school year appears on Page 3A today..

Fayette County Farm Bureau presented a $15,000 donation to Fayette County’s feral hog abatement program at the Commissioners Court meeting last Thursday. “Each year, we look at how we can help agriculture in our county,” said Fayette County Farm Bureau president Donnie Dippel.

The La Grange High School band got a Division 1 rating (Straight Ones) at their UIL Regional Marching Contest Saturday and have advanced to the UIL Area Marching contest on October 30 in Pflugerville.

Juneteenth Meet The La Grange Juneteenth Committee will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.

The remnants of Hurricane Pamela dumped more than eight inches of rain on La Grange Thursday morning, Oct. 14.
