Juneteenth Meet
The La Grange Juneteenth Committee will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Randolph Recreation Center West Wing located at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange.
VFW Meeting
The VFW No. 5254 will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.The Auxiliary is furnishing the meal.
Swiss Alp FB
There will not be a meeting Tuesday, Oct. 19 for the Swiss Alp Farm Bureau. Please watch for the Nov. 16 meeting notice.
Chicken Fajita Sale
The Catholic Union of Texas, KJT Society No. 46 La Grange is hosting their annual drive-thru only chicken fajita dinner and bake sale on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the K.C. Hall 190 S. Brown St. Tickets are still available and are $11 each. Call (979) 968-5877 or come by the KJT Home Office at 214 E. Colorado St. in La Grange to get your tickets. Limited tickets available at the drive-thru. The bake sale benefits Sacred Heart Catholic School and qualifies for matching grant funds from the KJT Home Office.
Winedale Online Talk
Join Winedale on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at noon for their next online talk, San Antonio Missions, ever-evolving communities. Ranger Dana of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park will share the history of San Antonio’s five missions and explore how the community has shaped these places through the years and vice-versa. Fayette County Republican Women
The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 21 at La Grange City Hall council chambers located at 155 E. Colorado in La Grange. Social time starts at 6 p.m. and business meeting at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be State Representative Phil Stephenson for the newly drawn House District 85 which will include Fayette County. Phil is a practicing CPA and has served numerous terms in office. He currently serves on the county affairs committee and the pensions, investments and financial services committee. RVOS Insurance Lodge No. 24
The Annual meeting of the RVOS Insurance Lodge No. 24 PISEK, scheduled for Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at the KJT Hall in Fayetteville has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
CDA No. 1962 Meeting
CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 25 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewcz Center in La Grange at 7 p.m. The CDA will be accepting donations for Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter. Members are encouraged to attend and potential new members are always welcomed.
Zombie Laser Tag
Fayette County Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to help with their Hab-o-ween zombie laser tag arena at the fairgrounds. They are looking for volunteers to help design and construct the laser tag arena and are also seeking actors to play zombies during the laser tag games. Schulenburg Class Reunion
The Schulenburg High School Class of 1960 will hold their 61st Reunion (delayed 60th) on Saturday, Oct. 30 at High Hill’s St. Mary’s Catholic Church Pavilion. The reunion will start at 11 a.m. with a pot luck lunch. Bring food and drinks for you and your guest(s), plus some extra to share. Reach out to contact your classmates regarding this event. The St. Paul LYO is holding its annoual Tamale Sale. Cost is $12 per dozen. All pork, spicy or mild. Place orders by Nov. 5 at the church office at (979) 968-5657. Pick up from St. Paul Fellowship Hall Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Pavlas Family Reunion Planned
The 71st Pavlas Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, Oct. 24, at The Pavlas Tavern in Moulton. The reunion will begin at 9:30 a.m. A catered meal with tea, coffee, sodas, and water will be provided. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Bring a dessert and items for the family auction. KJT Turkey Shoot
The KJT St. Augustine Society No. 129 in Schulenburg will hold its Annual Society Challenge Turkey Shoot on Sunday, Oct. 24, at Tofel’s Place in Ammannsville. The Turkey Shoot will start at 1 p.m. and will include open rounds available to the public. The Society Challenge will consist of 15 rounds for five-person shooting teams. Entry fee is $75/team or $15/person. One team member must be a KJT member. Each team member will shoot three rounds and points will be accumulated to determine the winning team and earn them bragging rights until next year’s Challenge!
