Grants Flowed in During 2021 By ANGELA HAHN Fayette County Grants Specialist Fayette County received the first of two tranches of money allocated to it through the American Rescue Plan in May of 2021. The County planned to use the initial $2.4 million to fill gaps identified county-wide.

New Exhibits Opening at Quilt Museum in La Grange

The Texas Quilt Museum in downtown La Grange recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. It kicks off its 2022 season with two collections that put a wholly different spin on the phrase “music sampling.” The exhibits SAQA: Musica! and Super Samplers will be on display from Jan.

Alfaro, Stastny Married in Houston

Victoria Alfaro and Jason Stastny of Houston were united in marriage on June 4, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church of Houston. A dinner and dance reception followed at The Bell Tower on 34th. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Diana Alfaro and the granddaughter of Guadalupe Garza, Anthony Alfaro and Rolando and Maria Chapa, all of San Antonio. The groom is the son of David and Patricia Stastny of Fayetteville and the grandson of Robert and Evelyn Janish of Bellville and the late Frank and Agnes Stastny of Fayetteville.

NVCC Members Hear From New Summit House Owner

Navidad Valley Community Connections was blessed on Monday, Dec. 6 as Elizabeth Olsen, owner of the Summit House, now operateing as an Air B&B venue in Schulenburg, was the Lunch & Learn Series speaker. Members learned so much about her and her husband and how their tenacity and hard work have paid off for them.

Bluebonnet Electric Co-op Closed New Year’s Eve

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 31, in observance of the New Year holiday. Bluebonnet members can access their account information and make payments while the offices are closed through the co-op’s website at bluebonnet.coop.
