NVCC Members Hear From New Summit House Owner

Navidad Valley Community Connections was blessed on Monday, Dec. 6 as Elizabeth Olsen, owner of the Summit House, now operateing as an Air B&B venue in Schulenburg, was the Lunch & Learn Series speaker. Members learned so much about her and her husband and how their tenacity and hard work have paid off for them.

They made it work and they have created a nice, different type of setting. It’s a place where local people can invite guests to stay when they come to the area for weddings, graduations and other events. There are all kinds of reasons you might want to get to know Elizabeth Olsen, because she has the space you might be looking for.

NVCC had its 2021 Christmas lunch and some new folks come in to volunteer to help with set up and clean up. The Senior Center is a great place to volunteer and make an impact on your community.

Volunteers and all seven of board members were thanked for making a difference at the Senior Center this year.

Gifts were presented to Sharon Rodriguez and Julie Clements, who volunteer regularly to help with the meal service days.

NVCC Senior Center will be closed in observance of the Christmas holidays so staff and volunteers can spend some quality time with family. NVCC will return on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, with regular days and hours, to ring in the New Year, and get all started on bringing it in with a roar.

Navidad Valley Community Connections is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. The mission is “to provide a multipurpose organization that initiates, sponsors and promotes events, activities, and projects which enhance the quality of life for older adults in Fayette County and surrounding communities.” NVCC is located next door to the Boys & Girls Club in Wolter’s Park.
