Flatonia’s graduation is Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. in the Flatonia ISD Gymnasium. They do not name the valedictorian and salutatorian until that night. Honor grads from Flatonia include: Trista Alvarado, Katherine Bruns, Ellie Fike, Laura James, Ali Janecka, AnaLyn Kozelsky, Justin Marler, Jennifer Mendiola, Karli Siptak, Melody Smith and Rene Torres.

A recount in the Round Top Alderman race changed the outcome of the election, which took place last Saturday, May 7. Lynn Conine and Owen Massey are now the winners of the election. The initial count had Jeannette Burger and Massey winning the race.

Flatonia senior Ali Janecka is a state champion. Janecka hurled a discus farther than she ever had before Friday at the state track meet to win the girls 2A discus competition.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies will no longer be allowed to stream videos and other internet content on their County-issued cell phones. The order came after the Sheriff’s Office racked up thousands of dollars in fees from AT&T for data usage.
