Mobile Food Pantry to Be Here on Saturday
The Central Texas Food Truck will be at the parking lot of the Waldeck Lutheran Church this Saturday, July 16 from 10-11 a.m. It’s drive-thru distribution and will follow all CDC guidelines.
Garage Sale Success
Shoppers from all around the county checked out the Community-Wide Garage Sale held last Saturday by The Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce.
Blood Drive
Everyone is invited to participate in the community-wide blood drive held by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center on the square on Saturday morning, July 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is always a need for the gift of life. Drop-ins are welcome or you can reserve a spot by contacting Jonathan Noska at (979) 966-9569. The blood drive is sponsored by the Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus.
Knights of Columbus
The Fayetteville/Ellinger Knights of Columbus have rescheduled their monthly meeting, usually held on July 19. This month’s meeting will now take place on Monday, July 25. Officers for the 2022-23 year will be installed: Grand Knight-Jim Sula; Deputy Grand Knight -Richard Calloway; Chancellor-Alvin Minarcik; Recorder-Joe Lamer; Treasurer-David Holub; Warden-Ed Sulak; Advocate-Daniel Zika.
City Council Meeting
Plan on attending the Fayetteville City Council meeting at 7 p.m. next Monday, July 18 at the city offices.

Fayettevile ISD
The FISD school board approved the District of Innovation Committee’s updated and renewed local plan beginning July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2027. The plan can be found at https://www.fayettevilleisd.net/340879_2. The regularly scheduled July board meeting didn’t take place due to scheduling conflicts.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) at St. John is being held July 18-22. Donations of eight oz. bottles of water, cookies, brownies, or bars (wrapped individually) for the 64 volunteers will be deeply appreciated. Call Theresa Keilers at (979) 966- 2861 with any questions.
New Art Exhibit
All are welcome to the newest opening featuring acrylic paintings of local artist John Schaffer at ARTS Gorman Gallery in Schulenburg on Saturday, July 16 from 4-6 p.m. The exhibit runs through Sept. 10.
