Gardenia E. Janssen Shelter Update

As of Jan. 6, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 27: 18 dogs and 9 cats in need. As of Jan. 6, the shelter has 105 animals in care: 87 dogs/18 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

FCF Announces New Staff Members

The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new staff members, Ashleigh Parks and Guy Hardin. Parks worked as Development Associate with FCF since May of 2022, but is now transitioning to the role of Community Impact Program Director.

Bulk Pick-Up Day Set for Jan. 21 in City of La Grange

The City of La Grange has designated Saturday, January 21, 2023 as Residential Bulk Curbside Pick-Up Day for the hard to dispose of bulky items. Waste Management will pick up one free load of bulky items on this day. All items should be within three feet of the curb by 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Trucks will be starting at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to pick up items from the entire city.

Donations made to Dell Children’s Hospital Unit

Presley’s Power, a local nonprofi t charity organization supporting and advocating childhood cancer, delivered snacks and blankets to Dell Children’s Austin pediatric oncology unit in December. Presley’s Power appreciates the La Grange Lions Club for sponsoring the snack drive last September and helping make this donation possible. Senior Connections Kicks-Off Creative Arts Program Jan. 20

We have a whole new year in front of us and we are all really looking forward to seeing what 2023 will bring. Right now, the Senior Connections calendar for January is looking quite exciting, with a good, first-run movie scheduled early in the month at the Lyric Theater in Flatonia that includes lunch at Darlin’s Diner too.
