Local Manufacturer Makes and Presents Gun to Donald Trump Jr.
Local firearms manufacturer Jigsaw Weaponry builds modern rifles that can shoot accurately out to a mile. Donald Trump Jr. recently saw a video with Jigsaw’s new 6mm ARC Reaper, and he had to have one.
“He saw the post and started paying attention to us and following us,” said Britton Karisch, manager at Jigsaw Weaponry, which is based outside of Giddings. “He reached out to our social media guy. One day he texted and said, ‘Hook me up, I need one of those.’” The team at Jigsaw built a custom rifle for the former President’s son based on their Reaper platform. The Reaper is an accurized AR-15 that can be chambered in two calibers: .223 or 6mm ARC. The 6mm ARC version is where the gun really shines.
The team at Jigsaw shook up the long-range shooting community when they came out with the 6mm ARC Reaper last year. It was featured in a video with social media influencer Paige Roux, who shot targets with it at a mile away. The 6mm ARC Reaper is quickly becoming a favorite of hog hunters who need an accurate long-range rifle capable of quick follow-up shots.
Jigsaw owner Joe Garza presented Don Jr. with the gun at the Dallas Safari Club’s Annual Expo that took place last week. Shortly thereafter, Karisch got word that Eric Trump wanted one, too. So now Jigsaw is building a custom Reaper for another Trump sibling.
“Evidently, Eric is really big into the 6mm game, so he was really excited to see that gun,” Karisch said. “He’s really looking forward to it and we’re going to give it to him next week.”
You don’t need a Trumpsized checkbook to afford this locally-manufactured rifle. For a gun that doesn’t cost much more than a nice AR-15, it competes with custom firearms that can break the bank. If you want a Reaper, though, you’ll need to get in line. Karisch said they’re flying off the shelf faster than Jigsaw can build them.
